WORK RELATED INJURY CLAIMS AND ICBC

If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident while at work and within the scope of your employment, you will most likely not be able to make a personal injury claim with ICBC. Under the Workers Compensation Act, ICBC is likely barred from paying out your claim and you will receive compensation through WorkSafe BC.

However, WorkSafe BC does not have the equivalent coverage that is provided through ICBC. For example, WorkSafe BC does not provide compensation for pain and suffering and loss to the enjoyment of life.

If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident while at work, it is in your best interest to retain counsel so that you have the best chance of receiving all the compensation that you will need to recover from the accident.
